I’M ON A COMMITTEE!<\/p>\n
Oh give me some pity, I’m on a committee,<\/p>\n
which means that from morning to night,<\/p>\n
we attend, and amend, and contend, and defend<\/p>\n
without a conclusion in sight.<\/p>\n
We confer and concur, we defer and demur,<\/p>\n
and reiterate all of our thoughts.<\/p>\n
We revise the agenda with frequent addenda,<\/p>\n
and consider a load of reports.<\/p>\n
We compose and propose, we suppose and oppose,<\/p>\n
and the points of procedure are fun!<\/p>\n
But though various notions are brought up as motions,<\/p>\n
there’s terribly little gets done.<\/p>\n
We resolve and absolve, but we never dissolve,<\/p>\n
since it’s out of the question for us.<\/p>\n
What a shattering pity to end our committee,<\/p>\n
where else could we make such a fuss.<\/p>\n
