President Trump on Monday called on Disney\u2019s<\/a> \u00a0ABC to remove late-night host Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> over a joke he made last week about Melania Trump, in the latest skirmish between the administration and the comedian.<\/em><\/p>\n During a mock White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner speech, Kimmel made a remark about the first lady, saying, \u201cMrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.\u201d Kimmel, the host of \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!,\u201d performed the bit on April 23.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel\u2019s despicable call to violence, and normally would not be responsive to anything that he said but, this is something far beyond the pale,\u201d Trump said Monday on Truth Social. \u201cJimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Disney didn\u2019t immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/em><\/p>\n On Monday, the first lady also called on Disney\u2019s ABC to \u201ctake a stand\u201d against Kimmel.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cKimmel\u2019s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn\u2019t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America,\u201d she wrote on X. \u201cHow many times will ABC\u2019s leadership enable Kimmel\u2019s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also criticized Kimmel during a Monday press briefing.<\/em><\/p>\n Kimmel\u2019s comment came before Saturday, when suspected gunman Cole Allen opened fire outside the correspondents\u2019 dinner.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \n 12 hours later.<\/p>\n Jimmy Kimmel responds to the Trumps’ demand that he get fired.<\/p>\n \n
